August 15th-18th, Treasures in Long Neck will be featuring Uno de 50, one of our most unique lines of artisan jewelry! Hand-crafted in Spain, Uno de 50 is bold and distinctive. Branded by the philosophy of creating 50 of each artisan designs, the Uno de 50 line remains true to its origin by creating quality and exclusivity in every piece.
The icon of the Spanish jewelry brand, a small padlock was designed to symbolize the protection of this precious uniquely designed jewelry! UNO de 50 (pronounced, Uno de cincuenta) is an innovative jewelry company founded in the late 1990s in Madrid Spain. Authentic for its creativity, style and bold spirit, Uno de 50 designers were determined to establish a brand of fashion jewelry and accessories that would break all existing molds! They utilize a 100 percent handcrafted, made-in-Spain production process.
The process of handcrafting is one of the most intriguing aspects of this stunning jewelry line. UNO de 50 designers begin their process by sketching designs to determine their concept and material requirements. Next, a wax version of the piece is sculpted and refined using files, chisels and scrapers. After the wax sculpture is complete, a mold is created, which is later used to cast the silver metal alloy for the finished piece of jewelry. Finally, the piece is completed manually using chisels, torches, and other finishing tools. At this stage in the process, other materials are incorporated, like leather or crystals. The result is the creation of absolutely stunning jewelry!
