Samkas, was founded in 2013, by two sisters Susy and Marta. Natives to Argentina, they began their careers in the fashion industry owning their own shoe and clothing stores. Later in the US, they lived in NYC and Miami Beach where they continued working in high-end fashion and design. They decided to embark on a business venture that would allow them to express themselves through the art of jewelry. Samkas jewelry is a result of the perfect balance between a designer and the intricate craftsmanship of artisans, a virtuoso group of artists working close to each other to develop the real spirit of each handmade piece.
Samkas carries four jewelry Collections, Rock-chic, Vibrant, Timeless Spirit and Faith-based pieces. The Rock-chic Collection showcases bold silver pieces combined with leather, chains and pendants. The Vibrant Collection includes bold crystal gemstones with shapes reminiscent of nature. 925 silver plating is used in Samkas jewelry pieces. An “oxidized” finish is also used in several of their designs. This process deliberately blackens the crevices in the ornamentation of a silver object to make its decorative details stand out more clearly. With proper care, silver will retain its beauty and character for a very long time. This is essential as this finish can be removed by overzealous cleaning and polishing. As such, Samkas recommends using a jewelry care cloth for their jewelry.
